The NPR interview

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Yayyy staff of NPR! I think it’s a clear tribute to your skill and professionalism that you made me sound vaguely coherent! Here’s the interview.

NPR this weekend!

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

My interview with Liane Hansen will be live this Sunday at 9:40am EST on NPR’s Weekend Edition. As I’ve said, she was fantastic. I’m not so sure about me — I have no clear memory of what I said. I was sort of enveloped in the warm, soothing presence that is Liane Hansen (a presence powerful enough that it can be experienced remotely through a set of studio headphones) and began babbling while she chuckled periodically in an encouraging, indulgent fashion. As far as I know you may be tuning in to hear me hold forth on the effect of tidal forces and water temperature on oyster farm output in Japan, a subject about which I know nothing and may not, strictly speaking, be an actual subject. I think the book may have also come up.
